Sandi Dubowski will be sharing his experience at a meeting October 3rd in The Rainbow Room, the locals of Samtökin ´78, the National Queer Center at Laugavegur 3. Sandi DuBowski is the Producer of A Jihad for Love (featured at RIFF) and Director/Producer of the award-winning Trembling Before G-d, an unprecedented feature documentary that shatters assumptions about faith, sexuality, and religious fundamentalism.

Club MSC finds itself a new location

The legendary men only club MSC is about to find itself a new location after 11 years behind the iron gate opposite the Icelandic Opera. MSC has been the heart of the leather scene in Iceland but it has also attracted men of all types who simply like the company of like minded guys and relaxed atmosphere. The new location is on Laugavegur 28 in the city center. Opening night is scheduled in early November.

Q&A with Squeezebox directors Zach Shaffer and Steve Saporito

Reykjavik Queer Film Festival is full on with variety of interesting films in theaters. Squeezebox directors Zach Shaffer and Steve Saporito will be in town for the queer film festival.  September 28th they will answer questions from audience and talk about their movie and production at restaurant and theater Iðnó (by the pond next to the city hall).  The session starts 5.30 p.m.

Reykjavik Queer Film Festival opens next week, September 26th. This year, the Reykjavík Queer Film Festival proudly joins forces with RIFF – Reykjavík International Film Festival. Previously, the event was organized independently, but now, by being part of the largest and most prestigious film festival in Iceland, organisers hope to reach out to an even larger audience.

Dates for Reykjavik Gay Pride 2009

The dates for Reykjavik Gay Pride 2009 are August 6 - 9. Artists who want to perform at the event should sent their applications before the end of February 2009.

The Reykjavik Gay Pride is a grass-root non-profit organization. A board of five directors is elected at an annual meeting. The board works closely with a pride committee wich is open for all who wants to work for pride.

Bears and friends to take over Reykjavik´s gay scene

It´s getting closer to the BEARS ON ICE 2008 event. For the fourth time GAYICE and the well established UK London/Bristol club COME TO DADDY have worked hard to create a unique bear party & experience in the world´s northernmost capital.

The fun starts on Thursday night with a welcome party at the Queer Center. On Friday the group goes Whale watching to be continued with a Friday night top-off party at Club MSC. Saturday program includes an afternoon trip to the world famous geothermal Blue lagoon, the best place to save up some evergy for the Saturday COME TO DADDY spin-off night at Club 22. DJ Ben Jamin will perform Saturday night but DJ Ben has been playing at some of the best known London clubs including Heaven, Ultra, Matinee, Chunk, Dirty Fairy and Crash.
