The mayor of Reykjavik paints a street in the colors of Pride

Painting a rainbow is a Reykjavik Pride tradition which marks the formal start of the six day rainbow festival. This year’s rainbow was painted on Skólavörðustígur from Bergstaðastræti to Laugavegur.

The event is organised in cooperation with Reykjavík City. Gunnlaugur Bragi, President of Reykjavik Pride and Dagur B. Eggertsson, the mayor of Reykjavík, held short speeches to start the festivities.
