Joao Pedro Rodrigues

 
João Pedro Rodrigues, director in RIFF’s spotlight, throws a masterclass during the Queer Film Festival September 25th starting 10:45 am. The event takes place in the Nordic House (by the Unversity of Iceland). Rodrigues studied filmmaking in Lissabon and has worked both as an editor and a director.
João Pedro Rodrigues directed his first feature-length film, The Phantom, in 2000, dealing with homosexual affection and aimed at catering to the demands of a growing influence of gays and gay culture in Portugal. His second feature film, Two Drifters (2005), was presented at the Cannes Film, and his most recent work is To Die Like a Man (2009).
