Johanna Sigurdardottir is an Icon of GLBT History Month 2010 in October. Equality Forum is a national and international gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender civil rights organization with an educational focus, headquartered in Philadelphia. This year marks the 5th Anniversary of GLBT History Month. "We are delighted that Iceland recently unanimously passed same-sex marriage legislation and that the Prime Minister and her partner were the first couple to be officially married" says Malcolm Lazin, Executive Director of Equality Forum.
GLBT History Month celebrates the achievements of 31 gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender Icons. Beginning October 1, 2010, a new GLBT Icon is featured each day with a video, bio, bibliography, downloadable images and other resources.
