Pink Iceland, Iceland´s first LGBT tour operater, is offering special Gay Pride packages for those who want to show up for the 2012 event. The Pride Packages come with or without accommodation (but exclude flights) and include a Blue Lagoon trip, Pink City Walk around Reykjavik´s historical city center, dinner at Harpa (Iceland´s newest concert hall) and admission to Gay Pride events during gay pride week. Prices for Pink Pride Package excluding accommodation is ISK 79.500 (about 620 $ / 475 €) and ISK 150.000 with accommodation (about 1.170 $ / 895 €).
Reykjavik Gay Pride kicks off August 9th and ends Sunday August 12th. The event has grown to be one of Iceland´s biggest festivals with almost one third of Icelanders showing up for the main event, the Saturday gay parade and outdoor concert. Reykjavik Gay Pride kicks off August 9th and for four days Reykjavik becomes the world´s "queerest" capital (as well as the world´s northernmost one).
