The 11th Reykjavík Shorts&Docs Festival is coming up. At the Shorts and Docs festival a selection of short films, animations and documentary films from across the globe will be presented with a special LGBT section which includes three documentaries and two Icelandic short films by Barði Guðmundsson (A Man Apart) Guðni Líndal Benediktsson (No Homo). Below is a list of LGBT films presented at the festival:

Icelandic films:

Bóbó (A Man Apart) - Barði Guðmundsson
Bóbó (A Man Apart) by writer and director Bardi Gudmundsson takes place in a little town in Iceland in 1973. The Vietnam War is coming to a close as the world buckles underneath new attitudes and changing priorities. Far from the din of history, in a small village in the south of Iceland, a young man falls for a soldier at the nearby US army base.

No Homo - Guðni Líndal Benediktsson 
A simple sentence can turn your whole world upside down. In an effort to embrace his best friend's homosexuality, Arnar goes to ridiculous lengths, which can only end badly. It's a film about friendship, acceptance - and completely incompetent straight guys coming to terms with unexpected news

How To Survive a Plague - David France

How To Survive a Plague is the story of two coalitions ACT UP and TAG (Treatment Action Group) whose activism and innovation turned AIDS from a death sentence into a manageable condition (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2124803). The film has won several awards (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2124803/awards?ref_=tt_awd) including The Boston Society of Film Critics Awards (best Documentary, best New Filmmaker), Central Ohio Film Critics Association awards, Chlotrudis Awardsm GLAAD Media Awards, Gotham Awards, New York Film Critics Circle Awards and Provincetown International Film Festival (Audience Award).

The Love Part of This - Lya Guerra

The Love Part of This tells the story of Grace Schrafft and Grace Moceri who leave their their respective husbands with their infant children in tow to be together. Grace Moceri is the responsible one, the one who makes sure the bills are paid and the doors are locked. Grace Schrafft is the free spirit that everyone in town knows and loves. The two Graces are deeply rooted in their hometown of Gloucester, Massachusetts.

For You Naked - Sara Broos

For You Naked is a a love story between two men from entirely different backgrounds for whom the old cliché of love moving mountains acquires absolute currency.
