RVKBear is not your average bear run—it’s an intimate gathering with exclusive experiences for the event pass holders. Whether you’re soaking in Iceland’s most famous geothermal lagoons, exploring the Golden Circle, or dancing the night away at Reykjavik Bear legendary parties, every moment is crafted for connection, adventure, and sheer bear joy.
Born from the legendary spirit of the Bears on Ice festival, RVKBear emerged in 2019 thanks to the passion and dedication of a group of volunteers who believed the celebration should continue. In the heart of Reykjavík, a new chapter began with the formation of Bangsafélagið, or the Bears of Iceland, a non-profit organization committed to nurturing and expanding a vibrant local bear community.
This year marks a double celebration—our fifth anniversary and 20 years since the very first Bears on Ice festival brought bears together in Iceland. From a small but mighty start, RVKBear has grown from welcoming 25 international guests in 2021 to hosting over 120 attendees in 2024. The festival’s rise is a testament to the warmth, inclusivity, and unforgettable experiences that define our event.
RVKBear was nominated for Best Bear Event 2024 in the Bear World Magazine Awards! This recognition reflects the heart and soul that our community brings to the festival every year.
As the event continues to evolve, 2025 brings something new and exciting—the introduction of Mr. Reykjavík Bear! As part of the fifth anniversary celebrations for the event, we will be electing the first ever Mr. Reykjavík Bear! The titleholder of Mr. Reykjavík Bear will represent our bear community at local events in Iceland, and by attending other bear events worldwide throughout the 2025-2026 title year.

Welcome party
The evening kicks off at the stunning Petersen svítan, located at Ingólfsstræti 2a—a cozy rooftop bar with breathtaking views, perfect for your first taste of Reykjavik’s vibrant nightlife. The Welcome Party is the perfect opportunity to meet your fellow bears, cubs, and admirers from all corners of the globe. Doors open at 20:00, so come early, grab a drink, and let the good times roll!
Friday Top-off party!
This year’s Top-Off! will be hosted by Kiki Queer bar for a night of dancing, flirting, and topless bears!
Everyone is invited to remove their tops during the party and enjoy dancing to the sounds of our very own DJ Mighty Bear who never fails to keep the vibes moving!
Mr. Reykjavík Bear 2025
This is more than a competition; it’s a night of bear culture, creativity, and community you won’t want to miss. Get ready to cheer, roar, and celebrate like never before!
The event will be hosted by the one-and-only Faye Knús, Reykjavik’s bear-loving drag queen, and the fabulous Broody Valentino from New York, whose charisma and sass will keep you entertained all night long. And it wouldn’t be a true bear event without a jaw-dropping dance number! Choreographed by our very own Jeffre Scott, this sizzling performance features some of Reykjavik’s sexiest bear dancers. After the contest the party will keep going into the night!
