Entertaining and hearth warming story of a gay guy who moved from Australia all the way to Iceland in 2015 and has since then consistently been answering one question: “Why the hell did you move to Iceland?” In Australiana, Jono will dish the dirt on what it was like growing up in the land down under; what he misses, and ultimately the reason why he said goodbye.

Rainbow Reykjavik 2017

Rainbow Reykjavik has established itself as an important part of Reykjavik´s LGBT scene with events of all sorts taking place over a long weekend in February. The festival welcomes guests from all over the world to enjoy Iceland´s amazing nature, nightlife and northern lights. Highlight of the festival is Pink Iceland´s Pink Masquerade Party whith local and international performers & DJs.

Drag Sugur Xmas Special

Is it the most wonderful time of the year? Members of the Icelandic drag sensation Drag-Sugur will make sure it is by putting on their Xmas special show at Gaukurinn (Tryggvagata 22), December 21st. In the spirit of the holidays: All profits will be donated to Gaukurinn to make the venue wheelchair accessible.  More information about the show and Drag-Sugur performers on their Facebook page. Tickets price is ISK 2.000, show starts at 21:00.

 

Opening hours during holidays

If you´re spening Christmas in Reykjavik, make sure you know which places (restaurants, shopping malls etc.) are open during holidays. Here´s a list of places that may come handy when you´re planning your time in town. Many restaurants are closed on the 24th and 25th so check out the list so you know where to go if (and when) you get hungry. Merry Christmas and enjoy Reykjavik!
