Framávið is the official Reykjavík Pride song for 2026, an uplifting and energetic pop song performed by Guðjón Þorgils Kristjánsson.
The song was premiered on Margrét Maack’s radio programme Vasadiskó on Rás 2 on 30 July and is now available on major streaming platforms.
Guðjón wrote the song together with Axel Ingi Árnason and Inga Auðbjörg K. Straumland. Its title, which means “Moving Forward”, captures the spirit of Reykjavík Pride: celebrating the progress already made while continuing the work towards greater equality, visibility and freedom for everyone to be themselves.
Guðjón has attracted considerable attention for his powerful voice and confident stage presence. Earlier this year, he won Iceland’s Upper Secondary School Singing Competition. With Framávið, he brings Reykjavík Pride a song that encourages us to stand together, look confidently towards the future and continue building a society in which everyone can flourish.
