This weekend the local gay scene celebrates the opening of a new gay venue in town. This is BarBarbara which opens Friday March 6th. BarBarbara´s home is on Laugavegur 22 which was the home of the legendary gay club 22 which ruled the world in the 90s.
According to host Frímann Sigurðsson BarBarbara wants to attract gays, lesbians and other positive minded people. "It’s back to basic" explains Frímann, "with happiness being the foundation of our business" (www.visir.is)
BarBarbara opening night starts 10 pm tonight (Friday) and welcomes everyone.
Saturday (March 7th) BarBarbara will host a boys-night-out which is also a benefit dance for the upcoming Iceland Express tournament in April organized by the gay football club St. Styrmir.
