Once again we´re celebrating new year with adventurous travel coming up for many of us. So for those of you who are considering or planning a trip to Iceland in 2012 there is a handful of interesting events to attend in addition to all the nice things to enjoy while in Iceland. Below are the biggest LGBT events coming up in 2012.
Rainbow Reykjavik, Feb 16-19
For the first time Rainbow Reykjavik LGBT festival is to be held in Reykjavik, Iceland, February 16th-19th, 2012. The festival has a wide range of events and activities to offer including cultural events, sight seeing tours, music, food and fun.
International Gay and Lesbian Aquatics, May 29-June 2nd
Reykjavik will be the home the International Gay and Lesbian Aquatics taking place from May 29th to June 2nd 2012. You don't need to swim to attend, watching will be just as much fun! The event is expected to attract large crowd of athletes around the world.
Reykjavik Gay Pride 2012, August 9-12
The Reykjavik Gay Pride has been a huge success since first held attracting thousands of people (http://www.gayice.is/news/latest/417-gay-pride-marvelous-success) Gay Pride is one of Iceland´s biggest outdoor events and is like no other pride you´ve been to. The 2012 pride weekend is from August 9th to August 12th.
BEARS ON ICE 2012, September 6-9
BEARS ON ICE has become an important part of the small and friendly Reykjavik gay scene attracting visitors from all over the world, excited to see a little bit of Iceland, make new friends and have some fun for a few days with bears and friends.
