The Icelandic team’s captain will be showing his support for LGBT+ rights at the 2018 Men's European Championship in handball taking place France by wearing the rainbow flag on his shoe.
Guðjón Valur Sigurðsson is considered one of the best handball players worldwide and has had a long and successful career playing with top European teams in Germany, Denmark and Spain.
He also had a hand in the design of the Wave Mirage 2 shoes from Mizuno.

He also tried showing his support at 2016 Men's European Championship in Poland along with Bjarte Myrhol, captain of the Norwegian men’s national handball team by wearing rainbow colored armbands but unfortunately regulations did not allow multicolored armbands.
