Reykjavík Pride – August 5–10, Parade on August 9
Reykjavík Pride, also known as Hinsegin dagar, will take place from August 5 to 10, 2025, with the Pride Parade stepping off on Saturday, August 9.
The Pride Parade is the highlight of Reykjavík Pride. In the parade, lesbians, gay men, bisexual, pansexual, transgender, intersex, and other queer individuals join together with friends and families to affirm their presence and raise awareness of ongoing struggles. It is both a protest march demanding equality, visibility, and an end to discrimination—and a celebration of progress made in the fight for queer rights.

The Queer Co-op – Hinsegin Kaupfélagið
A small Queer Co-op store is also run as part of the festival, offering fun and meaningful merchandise.
The Queer Co-op (Hinsegin kaupfélagið) is a collaboration between two major LGBTQ+ organizations in Iceland: Reykjavík Pride and Samtökin ’78. Both have worked on behalf of queer people for decades, and now you have a chance to support their mission by shopping at the Co-op.
Your purchase directly supports these organizations and helps fund diverse initiatives that promote visibility, education, and equality. All profits go directly toward this important work. Show your solidarity and be part of a positive change by shopping with us!
Unfortunately the website is only available in Icelandic: hinseginkaupfelagid.is
A New Pride Festival in Northeast Iceland – June 18–22
Pride celebrations extend far beyond the capital region. The Northeast Iceland Pride Festival (Hinsegin hátíð á Norðurlandi eystra) will take place June 18–22, 2025.
The aim is to increase the visibility of the LGBTQ+ community and build a society that is open and safe for all residents and visitors. The festival builds on the positive work that began in Hrísey, where the first Pride event in the area was held in 2023.
All municipalities in the Northeast are involved in organizing the event.
Unfortunately only in Icelandic but you can see the full event program and learn more at: hinseginhatid.is
