Reykjavik Gay Pride 2011 song, Feel the Love Tonight (Finnum ástina) is OUT, performed by Eurovision Diva Hera Björk, Iceland´s youngest pop sensation Haffi Haff and rapper Blaz Roca. Finnum ástina is written by Orlygur Smari and Petur Orn, filled with feelings of freedom and love of the Gay Pride events all around the world. Listen and Love!

Gay Pride ticket center has opened in IÐA shop on Lækjargata 2 (city center). Event tickets, VIP passes and Gay Pride T-shirts are available at the Gay Pride Center which is open every day from 11 am to 8 pm. Read more ...
Queer Film Festival to open
Queer Film Festival opens July 29th at Bíó Paradís (Cinema Paradise, Hversfisgata 54) and run as a part of the Reykjavik Gay Pride festival coming up. In the past Queer Film festival has offered to the Icelandic audience films that have received well earned attention at LGBT film festivals around the world and this year is no exception. The films on screen this year are Howl (USA), Broderskap (Denmark) which was voted the best film at the Rome film festival in 2009, Tomboy (France) and L’Arbre et la forêt (France).
Sexual identity not icluded in draft for a new constitution
Sexual identity is not included in the draft for a new constitution recently put forward by the constitutional committee, a 25 government-appointed citizens tasked with drafting a new constitution for Iceland. On the other hand sexual orientation is included in the draft in article 8th under Chapter II: Human Rights1, which is an important step and a milestone to celebrate.

Iceland´s most entertaining competetion, The Icelandic Drag competition, will be held in Harpa (Reykjavik Concert Hall) for the 14th time on August 3rd. Drag is probably the oldest form of theatre known in the world and originates in earlier times when females were not allowed to act on stage so female roles were filled by men. Now today both men and women compete to become the Queen and King every year. Last year was a blast and this year will be even bigger! The show takes about 2 hours and is full of fun and laughter that you don't want to miss. Tickets available online and cost ISK 2.800.

Little Shop of Horrors: Viggo and Violetta go wild at Barbara
The Royal Musical Couple of Iceland, Viggo and Violetta, will be throwing a major bash at Barbara on Wednesday the 20th of July. Barbara is the only gay club in Iceland and is at Laugavegur 22. Corner of Klapparstígur and Laugavegur. They will make the crowd go wild with their own speedy interpretation of two of the greatest musicals of all times: Rocky Horror and The Little Shop of Horrors!
