Happy queer christmas 

Spending Christmas and new years in Reykjavik is a wonderful experience and you´ll have no problem having fun. It´s good though to do some planning in advance as many restaurants and cafes are closed on the 24th and 25th. So in case you haven´t been invited by some friendly Icelanders to enjoy traditional Icelandic Christmas in their homes its good to check out in advance which restaurants are open during those two days. International Gay and Lesbian Aquatics in Reykjavik 2012

Reykjavik Gay and Lesbian Aquatics 

Reykjavik will be the home the International Gay and Lesbian Aquatics taking place from May 29th to June 2nd 2012. The event is expected to attract large crowd of athletes around the world and will be one of the biggest Aquatic sport event to be held in Iceland. The event is organized by Styrmir which is a local sport organization dedicated to the cause of encouraging gay men and lesbians to participate in sports.

Bear weekend in Reykjavik great success

bears on iceBEARS ON ICE weekend has just finished and for the 7th year bears and friends took over the local gay scene in Reykjavik for a long weekend. According to organizers the weekend was a great success with good number of bears and friends coming from abroad, enjoying Iceland´s unique nature during the day while partying with the locals during the nights!

Q to celebrate the beginning of school

Q, Association of queer students will celebrate the beginning of schools and run its first Q-social night this Friday, September 2nd at the Queer center, Samtokin '78,  on Laugavegur 3, 4th floor. This Friday Q will introduce this winter´s program and welcomes everyone to join, new members as well as old friends. Admission is free, house opens 8 p.m.

BEARS ON ICE 2011

BEARS ON ICE

BEARS ON ICE is coming up and will take place in Reykjavik September 8-11. Since 2005 BEARS ON ICE has become an important part of the small and friendly Reykjavik gay scene attracting visitors from all over the world, excited to see a little bit of Iceland, make new friends and have some fun for a few days. The four day event kicks off Thursday September 8th with a Welcome party at the Queer center. Other activity includes the golden Circle sight seeing tour, a visit to the world famous Blue lagoon, Friday Scruff, Saturday Queer dance at Barbara and Sunday Brunch. Among guests performing this year are the well known DreamBears (UK) and DJ Barney Philly (USA). Read more ...
