Jón Þór Birgisson, better knows as Jónsi of Sigur Rós, is about to releases his debut solo album featuring 9 songs drawn from the large pool of material amassed by Jónsi during his many years as singer with Sigur Rós. The songs are arranged in collaboration with classical wunderkind Nico Muhly who has been labeled as "one of the hottest composers on the planet" in Daily Telegraph recently. Sigur Ros is one of Iceland´s best known names in music internationally coming second to Bjork.

BEARS OF ICELAND are proud to announce the date for the BEARS ON ICE 2010 event which is to be held the second weekend of September in Reykjavik, Iceland September, 9-12th. For the 6th time bears and friends will take over the local gay scene and have some fun.  

It’s the season of love and friendship, Christmas lights, shopping and partying, December is always packed with fun things to do. The highlights will of course be the Queer Christmas Party and the New Years Eve QUEER Party, both of which no one should miss.

For the second time Reykjavík Queer Film Festival proudly joins forces with RIFF – Reykjavík International Film Festival. Originally, the event was organized independently, but now, by being part of the largest and most prestigious film festival in Iceland, we hope to reach out to an even larger audience.

Coming up weekend is full of fun things to do for everyone such as GUYS only party, GIRLS NIGHT OUT and BEARS ON ICE event. Saturday night GUYS are having fun at club Batteríið (Hafnarstræti 1-3, city center) while the girls will throw a party at club Barbara (Laugavegur 22).
