Club Gay 46 under siege
Complains about noise is just prejudice in disguise says Gay 46 manager Ingi Rafn Hauksson. Gay 46 is currently Reykjavik´s only gay club which opened early February this year. "Since the club opened we´ve had complains from this one person who lives in an apartment building next to the club stating that the club brings too much noise to the neighborhood" said manager Ingi Rafn on local television tonight. "When this was not a gay club the very same person did not complain at all".

BEARS ON ICE 2012 registration is now open. The event kicks off September 6th with a welcome party and finishes with Sunday brunch after four days of fun! This is the 8th year the event takes place in Reykjavik and invites bears, cubs, chubs admirers and friends to see little bit of Iceland and have fun with like minded guys. The four day event attracts bears and friends from all around the world . The event offers a wide range of activites such as a Golden Circle sight seeing tour and an afternoon visit to the world famous geothermal Blue lagoon, a few parties and guaranteed fun for four days.

Queers singing prejudice to the ground
Since the Queer Choir was formed on July 27th last year (2011) its choir members have been busy practicing and the choir has performed at various events around town. Hinsegin kórinn, which is the Icelandic name of the choir, was originally formed by a group of friends who happened to like singing (well who doesn´t). For the first few meetings close to 30 people showed up and since then more people have been joining the group. Read more ...
Betty is coming to town
The New York based pop-rock band Betty will be coming to Iceland for Reykjavik Gay Pride which takes place from August 9th to 12th. Pop-rock group Betty has been around since 1986 and recorded seven albums, including their latest "not-so-happy-holidays" cd. The group is also known for it´s L-Word theme songs which earned them international recognition. In addition to performing live and recording, BETTY wrote and starred in a hit Off-Broadway show, BETTY RULES (directed by Michael "Rent" Greif). Read more ...
DJ Mikael Costa coming for BEARS ON ICE 2012
DJ Mikael Costa (DJ Miko) will be coming for the 8th BEARS ON ICE to be held in September 6-9th. Mikael Costa is a Danish born DJ who has been busy DJ-ing on Radio, events and clubs Clubs since his first appearance in 1983. DJ Mikael Costa is best known for his insight and home ground of genres such as Dance, House and Trance. He´s been performing at various clubs and events around Europe and was a nominee for the favorite DJ´s of the year by Maximale Musicexperiences Spain 2010. Mikael is a resident DJ at Fate-Club in Berlin and a guest DJ at Under-Fluied-Party (Paris) and Be Proud and Domea (Copenhagen, Denmark). Read more ...
Lesbian and Gay Aquatics in Reykjavik
The International Gay and Lesbian Aquatics will take place in Reykjavik from May 29th to June 2nd 2012. The event is expected to LGBT athletes from all over the world and is expected to be one of the biggest Aquatic sport event to be held in Iceland. The event is organized by the local LGBT sport organization Styrmir which is dedicated to the cause of encouraging gay men and lesbians to participate in sports and Pink Iceland, Iceland´s first LGBT travel agency. The City of Reykjavik, Inspired by Iceland (Promote Iceland) and the Icelandic Swimming Association are all proud sponsors of The International Gay and Lesbian Aquatics. Rainbow Reykjavik LGBT festival is kicks off tomorrow February 16th with a trip to the Blue lagoo, Northern Lights tour and a Welcome party Reykjavik Rainbow festival offers a wide range of fun events and activities including cultural events, History walk around Reykjavik´s city center, sight seeing tours, music, food and dance. This is the first time the festival takes place in Reykjavik and will definitely spice up the local gay scene.
