BEARS ON ICE is just around the corner. This is the 7th year the event takes place in the world´s northernmost capital. The four day event has become an important part of the Icelandic gay scene where bears and friends are to take over the small and friendly gay scene.

Q, Association of queer students will celebrate the beginning of schools and run its first Q-social night this Friday, September 2nd at the Queer center, Samtokin '78, on Laugavegur 3, 4th floor. This Friday Q will introduce this winter´s program and welcomes everyone to join, new members as well as old friends. Admission is free, house opens 8 p.m.
Gay Pride marvelous success
Gay Pride weekend is over and this year was a marvelous success. It is estimated that some 100.000 people (1/3 of Iceland´s population) came to see the Saturday parade and the gay pride outdoor concert in Reykjavik´s city center. That makes it the biggest gay pride ever held in the world´s northernmost capital. The mayor of Reykjavik, Mr. Jón Gnarr did his part by dressing up and lead the colorful parade but the city of Reykjavik has been an active supporter of the event through the years. Read more ...
BEARS ON ICE 2011
BEARS ON ICE is coming up and will take place in Reykjavik September 8-11. Since 2005 BEARS ON ICE has become an important part of the small and friendly Reykjavik gay scene attracting visitors from all over the world, excited to see a little bit of Iceland, make new friends and have some fun for a few days. The four day event kicks off Thursday September 8th with a Welcome party at the Queer center. Other activity includes the golden Circle sight seeing tour, a visit to the world famous Blue lagoon, Friday Scruff, Saturday Queer dance at Barbara and Sunday Brunch. Reykjavik Gay Pride weekend starts tonight with the Opening Ceremony at Háskólabíó Movie Theater(University Theater). A Handfull of Icelandic artists will perform including Hafsteinn Þórólfsson, Never the Bride,Hnotubrjótarnir, Bloodgroup and MaryJet.
