Reykjavik Bear 2023 weekend parties coming up

The annual Reykjavík Bear weekend starts on Thursday when guests arrive from all over the world to socialize, do some sightseeing and party of course. All parties are open to locals guys and visitors. Tickets sold in the reykjavikbear.is shop and at the door. You can also join in the Welcome party on Thursday, free entrance. And don't forget the Humpday Social on Wednesday which is a separate monthly guys only event that has been running for over five years now.

BARBIE viewing - Vera & Loki

Some right-wingers in the USA are losing it over the new and inclusive Barbie movie, critiquing its expansive view of gender, a trans woman playing one of the Barbie characters, Ken is lacking testosterone and even calling it communist propaganda due to a map pictured in the movie.

What is this all about? Now the Loki and Vera organizations have organized an event to see the “movie that is driving the far right crazy with all of its trans propaganda! The Barbie movie is here to slay and Vera & Loki are not going to miss out! Join us next Tuesday night!"

Queer-pride in Húsavík

The first queer-pride held in Húsavík will be on the weekend of 28th - 30th of July along with other festivities named Mærudagar. The parade starts at 2 pm on Saturday 29th of July followed by entertainment, music, a barbecue and a get-together for everyone.

Akranes Pride celebrations

In Akranes they recently painted the longest rainbow road in Iceland in honor of the five day Pride celebrations 19 – 23 July. The program is packed with events including, art exhibition, documentary festival, film shown in the swimming pool, warm up party on Friday, a variety of warm up events on the Saturday and a festive Pride Parade starting at 2. pm with entertainment afterwards. There will also be a big party Saturday night and on Sunday there will be a mass in the church with a queer twist.
