Reykjavík Pride 2022 is upon us. The main event The Reykjavík Pride parade will be on Saturday 6th, starting from Hallgrímskirkja church at 2 pm. winding it’s way down to Lækjargata where it continues to Hljómskálagarðurinn where a outdoor festival starts at 3 pm. with music and entertainment.

“LOKI: a society of queer men and gender queer/ non-binary people” is a new project for queer men and gender queer/ non-binary people to come together. After a few years of pandemic blues, the group behind Loki wants to get the community back together again and bring some life back to downtown Reykjavík. Loki will be hosting a pub quiz night to get things going but plans for other outings in the future are in the works. Parties, drag shows, balls, hikes, beer tastings, really anything exciting to bring people together is on the table.

A large number of Icelanders are now vaccinated against Covid19, infections are rare and most restrictions have been lifted. The next months are looking great here in Iceland and the biggest party of them might just be Reykjavík Pride 2021.
The organisers recently announced that Reykjavík Pride will be held on August 3rd – 8th and they "could not be more excited about it!"
